The Curious Incident of Mr H. Hedgehog

The Curious Incident Of Mr. H. Hedgehog

Case 1: Friday 16th June 12:36am

Mr Hidge Hedgehog of 21 Hillcroft lLane was brutally murdered at the aproximate time of 9:28am on the 14th of March infront of Roy’s Toys Shop in Wroxham.

Mrs Hilly Hedgehog is 1 out of 4 witnesses here to tell her side of the story.

Mrs H. Hedgehog:

My Husband, Hidge, went to fetch us some walnuts from the near by walnut tree because my dear children, Hildrid, Hogs and Hima, were hungry and our stash had run out.  Hidge crossed the road in front of our Oak Tree and wandered carefully to the Walnut Tree where he gathered approximately 7 walnuts before he returned to the edge of the road opposite us.  He nodded to Mr. Peppo Pigeon politely before he turned to cross over.  He watched a red Prius pass then he made sure there was a safe distance between the next car and him before he set foot on the tarmac road. He was certainly a safe distance, I assure you !  Anyway, Hidge stepped carefully onto the road and then took another step. I saw the car seemed to be speeding up quite rapidly and tried to call out to Hidge to back away, but it was too late ... the car had run my poor old husband down.

His velvet green waistcoat was stained with crimson. Then, surprisingly, the car stopped and the driver stepped out .I thought he was going to come after my children and me, but luckily he did not see us !  He did see poor old Peppo Pigeon gaping at Hidge's bloodstained corpse though.  The driver carefully and slowly removed a tea towel from his back pocket and edged towards Peppo (Who apparently still hadn’t seen the driver). With a cautious hand the driver went to reach out for Peppo but quickly Peppo tried to fly away and got quite far before the driver caught hold of him and smashed Peppo’s feathery head onto the pavement. Peppo was instantly killed on impact.  The driver then simply wiped his hands on the tea towel threw it on the floor then got into his car again and drove away.

My Daddy went to get my younger brother and sister some walnuts from the walnut tree across the road. But he didn’t come back. Mummy said he’s gone to live somewhere else with Peppo, but I think she’s telling porky pies! Anyway, Daddy tried to come back then he got run over by this meany man in a shiny silver car. Then he went and killed Peppo too. Thats a bit horrid, don’t you think ?!  Hima and Hogs are wondering where he is.  I tried telling them that Daddy’s dead, but the’re so unreasonable !  They don’t believe me ! Anyway, Mummy is making a face which means  I need to come and sit down again. Bye, Bye !!!

Miss Hildrid leaves the stand and returns to her seat.

Master Hogs is the middle child of 3 aged at 7 year old.

Drivers these days!! Honestly in my day there were no such thing as silly old cars!! I knew the minute they came out that they were bad news!!... Thats what Grandad says anyway. But he didn’t see what happened. I didn’t either. All I heard was a scream, bang, smash, whack, bump, woosh and the end. I was busy watching Tommy Turkey and Timmy Turkey play acorn ball.  I wanted to play! But mummy wouldn’t let me !!! *Stomps off*
